Corona numbers have continued to decline, according to data released Sunday. According to the data, 5407 new infections with the coronavirus were received on Saturday, according to AGES. This compares with 8,667 a week ago, and the 5,407 other infections were below the average of 8,740 new conditions per day over the past seven days. The seven-day incidence dropped further to below 700, at 677.7 per 100,000 population.
With 97,741 active cases, there were 6205 fewer than the day before. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 5,398,512 confirmed cases in Austria. Since the epidemic outbreak, 5,279,877 people have recovered; within 24 hours, 11,611 were registered as recovered.
Three more deaths were added on Saturday, bringing the number of people who have died from or with covid-19 to 20,894 since the start of the pandemic. Per 100,000 population, 231.4 people have died in connection with SARS-CoV-2 infection since the pandemic’s beginning.
AGES also published hospital figures on Sunday: According to them, 2330 patients were hospitalized with Covid-19, one more than the day before. One hundred twenty-eight were cared for in intensive care units, the same number as the previous day.
